Walking Through the Storm
— Nicholas Peters
There will be seasons in your life that feel impossible. Courage is not the absence of fear — it is the decision to keep moving forward while the storm is still overhead.
My dear Kaitlyn, Caleb, and Brady,
There will be seasons in your life that feel impossible. Seasons where you cannot see the next step, let alone the destination. Seasons where the people around you are watching to see whether you will fold.
I want you to know something in advance:
Courage is not the absence of fear. It is the decision to keep walking forward while the storm is still overhead.
Your mother and I have walked through storms you do not fully know about. We came through them because we refused to let the storm decide who we were. We held onto each other. We worked. We loved each other louder than the noise. And on the other side, we were stronger — not because the storm was gentle, but because we did not let go of what we believed.
When your storm comes, remember: you were not built to be broken by it. You were built to walk through it.
Love,
Dad
